Privacy Policy

macncheese is made by Aquidneck Labs. Privacy isn’t a policy we bolted on — it’s how the product is built. This page covers two separate things: the app you run on your Mac, and this website.

The app collects nothing

The macncheese desktop app has no telemetry, no analytics, and no crash reporting. Your prompts, the images you generate, and the models you use never leave your Mac. Generation runs entirely on-device. Any secrets (like optional API keys you choose to add) are stored in the macOS Keychain, not sent to us.

When the app does use the internet

There are a few narrow, necessary exceptions — and none of them send us your content:

  • Downloading models. When you install a model, the app fetches it from its source (for example, Hugging Face). Some models require a Hugging Face account.
  • Checking for updates. The app asks our release server whether a newer version exists. Nothing about you or your work is sent along.
  • Optional cloud prompt help. The “Improve” feature runs against a local LLM by default. Only if you explicitly configure a cloud provider does any text go to that provider — and that’s your choice and your account.

This website

Our hosting provider keeps standard technical access logs (such as IP address and requested URL) to operate and secure the service.

For visitor statistics we use a privacy-focused analytics service. It is cookieless and collects no personal data — no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles, and no data sold or shared. It records aggregate counts such as page views, referrer, country, and device type. Because of this we don’t need a cookie banner. This applies to the website only; the app itself still has no analytics whatsoever.

If you email us for support, we use your address only to reply to you, and it is handled by our email provider on our behalf.

Your choices

You can email us at contact@aquidnecklabs.ai to ask what data we hold about you (essentially: your email address, if you've written to us) or to have it removed.

Changes

If this policy changes we’ll update the date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
